BBFC Bank Competition Sunday April 2nd 2023

Registration is from 8.15am to 8.45am and will be at the front of the Fishing Lodge. Please pay for your '4 fish catch and kill' ticket (£28) in the lodge or show your receipt from booking it online. You can also pay £15, cash or cheque, for the evening meal of fish and chips followed by apple crumble and custard

  • 09:00 · You will be randomly drawn a bank number and be transported via boat to the Gorse bushes between Dunsters and Ferry Point
  • 09:30 · Once everyone is there, an experienced club member will call out bank numbers in ascending order. Anglers will walk off to where they would like to start fishing in the morning
  • 10:00 · Fishing commences
  • 13:00 · Walk back to drop off point and have your packed lunch. Ask another angler to sign your results card to register how many fish you have caught so far
  • 13:45 · Walk off in the afternoon will be in reverse order
  • 16:30 · Stop fishing and go back to the drop off point to be picked up. Make sure another angler has signed off your card to show your final results!
  • 17:15 · Weigh-in is at the front of the Fishing Lodge. Please come to the weigh-in even if you haven’t caught. This is the only way we can check that everybody has safely returned
  • 18:00 to 19:00 · Meal at the Waterfront cafe, along with prizes and speeches

Notes for the day:

  • Waders are allowed, but please be careful of the steep banks. Some areas are very deep!
  • Fishing is to reservoir rules, so weighted flies are allowed. Maximum of four hooks
  • Please respect another angler’s space. Keep a minimum distance of 50m from each other
  • No fishing from any man-made structures e.g. the Ferry Point jetty
  • Don’t forget your packed lunch and bring £15 cash if you would like the evening meal

Have an enjoyable day and Tight Lines! - John
