The Bewl Angle
Author: - Editor
Like most newly formed clubs the need for some form of regular information sheet to it’s members became inevitable for the Bewl Bridge Flyfishers’ Club. As membership grew, so did the interest in club news & the latest flies & techniques. From this was born The BBFC newsletter, a gathering of loose photocopied sheets, hand collated & stapled together. In the late seventies a Mr Terry Hill, a magazine art director & colleague of Brian Harris, created a new name for the Newsletter & circular logo for the club - The Bewl Angle was born. Over the years many have taken the mantle of editor & provided members with a factual & humorous read. I took over as editor in October 2000 & produce six issues a year
‘There are over 500 copies printed per issue at bi-monthly intervals. Each issue contains 28 pages & is printed in black & white’. Advertising space is always available. My aim from the outset with the Bewl Angle was to reflect the atmosphere & character of Bewl Water as a flyfishing venue & profile heavily the club & it’s members with articles, news, gossip & photography. If, above that, I can enthuse & educate, gain new members & hold existing ones then I see that as role fulfilment
